Playing (at) Woyzeck
In 1977 The Pip Simmons Theatre Group staged an environmental production of Woyzeck at Chapter Arts centre, Cardiff using several spaces of the building.
My current research is focused on collecting and collating material together in an attempt to re-stage Woyzeck.

Playing (at) Woyzeck is a re-constituion exercise. Using documents from an uncatalogued archive, I am piecing them together to re-consider Pip Simmons' 1977 production of Woyzeck staged as a promenade piece at Chapter.
The next stage of the re-development incorporates interviews from artists involved in the original piece and audience who saw it.
I am interested to see what can be created.
I seek to re-capture a way of working.
I want to re-embody.

The next stage of Playing (at) Woyzeck saw the audience becoming the enactors of the piece. It was devised using oral history interviews with artists from Pip Simmons and Mik Flood, former artistic director of Chapter.
